When does the 2025 season start?
The 2025 season starts on Sunday 13 April 2025 at Lark Hill Sporting Complex in Secret Harbour. Look out for the folks with the green Jerseys with the Springbok logo and ask for Wynand or Chris. See the Events Section of our Team App for more info for the fixtures and locations.

How often do we play?
Gamed are played every second Sunday between 13:00 and 16:00. Each team plays two games of 40 minutes each. Click here to view all 2025 fixtures.

How often do we train?
The whole philosophy of Golden Oldies Rugby is to get fit while you pay. Teams do not train,
Golden Oldies rules allow for unlimited subs, so players can play a whole match or 10 minutes at a time and take a break before jumping back on again. You do not need to be fit to play for us, although it is still full contact it is not grade level rugby. 

Where kit do I need?
• Player jerseys: We have a few spare player jerseys to use but which needs to be returned
after each game. Both jerseys and shorts can be ordered from our supplier Vayda Sports.
• Rugby Shorts: White shorts
• Rugby socks: Green rugby socks available from Rebel or available to purchase from the club.
• Rugby boots: Highly recommended – Jim Kids always have specials available, or many
players just grab an old pair from Salvos.
• Gum guard: Highly recommended. Elastoplast Muth Guards are available from Chemist Warehouse for approx $10.

How does club registration work?
Club registration: Request registration from our Team App Site. Once approved you will have access to all team information and, links including upcoming games and playing times, team notifications etc. Use this link: https://shamboks.teamapp.com to join our Team App.

2025 season registration with Rugby WA: Each player has to be registered with Rugby WA
to play in the Golden Oldies Tournament. Registration fees for the 2025 season is $170.34.
The following provides the steps to register with Rugby WA through Rugby Explorer (https://auth.rugbyxplorer.com….)
Steps to register:
1. Sign into Rugby Xplorer or register as a new user.
2. Once logged in, select “Register” from the menu
3. Select “Find a Club” – search for Shamboks and click “Next”.
4. Under “Role” select player. Under “Registration Type” select Veterans. Under
“Duration” select season. Click next.
5. Fill in your personal info and emergency contact info.
6. Select terms and conditions and make payment.
7. Registration fees are $170.34 for the 2025 season.
